wempe chronometerwerke’s<br>new milestone is round.
To make unconventional timepieces, we don’t only give them a technically perfect movement and an unmistakable design. We also endow them with another important attribute: their own history. That’s why the current WEMPE CHRONOMETERWERKE wristwatch isn’t only our most spectacular new item. Its classical design pays homage to Wempe’s historical marine chronometer, which is also known as the “unified chronometer.” We owe this nautical chronometer, which is still manufactured today, nothing less than our authorization to manufacture timepieces in Glashütte because it was here that the “Glashütte Observatory Workgroup” was founded together with the A. Lange & Söhne manufactory in 1938. This close collaboration culminated in the construction of the unified chronometer, which was made according to our patent starting in 1942.
